TEACHER VOICE AND ASPIRATIONS INTERNATIONAL CENTER

“Our goal is to amplify teacher voice in order to enhance the aspirations of all learners.”

Dr. Lisa Lande
Executive Director

The Teacher Voice and Aspirations International Center is a natural outgrowth of the work being done by Dr. Quaglia and his team at the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations by promoting and embedding the principles of Self Worth, Engagement, and Purpose in the teaching profession. TVAIC is grounded in the belief that it is critical to have teaching and learning environments that listen to the voices of students and teachers. By valuing and acting upon the voices of students and teachers schools will promote a culture where critical thinking and problem solving skills, creativity, collaboration, open communication, and aspirations for both students and staff will be realized. Ultimately, recognizing and valuing teacher voice and their aspirations will lead to academic, personal, and social growth for the entire educational community.

A NOTE FROM DR. RUSSELL J. QUAGLIA, TVAIC FOUNDER/BOARD CHAIR

In all my years studying student voice and aspirations I have learned that teachers cannot be expected to create the conditions that foster aspirations for students unless those conditions are in their professional lives as well. Like students, teachers must be able to dream about the future, and be inspired in the present to reach those dreams. I have also learned that teachers must become skilled at exercising their voice towards the advancement of their own aspirations and those of their students. I believe the work of TVAIC has the potential to change the way we operate as an educational community and will have a profound impact on the personal, social and academic development of all students and teachers!
